Preschool Puppet Books (1970s, Grosset, ill. Tadasu Izawa and Shigemi Hijikata)

These new books, using adorable puppet figures, provide a fascinating and delightful way for very young children to recognize words and objects and to "read along."

This is the advertisement on the back cover of the Preschool Puppet Books published by Grosset in the 1970s. I had several of these as a child and have been collecting more.

These wonderful books are illustrated by Tadasu Izawa and Shigemi Hijikata (often just represented by their first initials). There are other series by this pair – for information on those, see my lists of Puppet Storybooks/3D Puppet Wonder Books and Puppet Shape Wonder Books.

Below is a list of the 29 Preschool Puppet Books I am aware of, with links to my reviews if they are books I've read. The numbered order of books is from the back covers.
